The Full Tummies Program
When COVID-19 hit, the Brainerd Lakes Area schools closed, jobs were lost and hard times hit many. Baxter Cafe & Catering and The Raboin & Francis Law Firm were concerned kids in our community might go hungry.
They did some research and determined the school district and Operation Sandwich had the weekdays covered. So, they created Full Tummies – Weekend Edition to help fulfill the weekend need. They began distributing healthy weekend lunches to hungry kids under the age of 18 on March 22nd, 2020.
Hubbard Radio, Pan-O-Gold Bakery and The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes quickly joined the team. On July 18th, Full Tummies – Weekend Edition expanded to provide healthy, weekend lunches to anyone in need, regardless of age.
Many different organizations have partnered with us to support some aspect of our program. We are very thankful for the outpouring of generosity from our community. We would like to recognize the following organizations that have provided support to our program:
